The trouble with having a ship was you tend to forget after so long in one small bunk that while it was big enough it wasn't really big enough to be able to stretch out on and then there was the problem with natural light. Lyssa had forgotten how good it could be to wake up slowly in the natural morning light. She blinked a number of times before moving to sit up to look out the window. The view out was a change for her to see as well. Sitting there she watched the few people about for a while before making herself get up. Lyssa looked over Owen's cd and dvd collections and generally be nosy along any shelf she passed by before sitting next to the window looking out again.

"Morning." Diane was carrying in breakfast. "I was just going to see if you were awake yet." She set down a mug and plate of toast. "It's not much, but if you want something more have to go out unfortunately. Not exactly the most domestic of people." She smiled and headed back to the kitchen for her own mug of coffee. She sat down on the sofa and looked at Lyssa.

"You're not going to run off this time are you?"

Lyssa jumped slightly hearing Diane's voice, she'd not really been honestly expecting anyone to be still in, given she'd woken up hearing no-one.

"It's more than enough." She reached over to grab the toast first. "Thanks." She glanced back out the window eating the toast in silence. "No, sorry about that, don't exactly make the best first impressions." She shrugged. "Or second... or ever really." She reached for the mug of coffee next when she'd finished the toast off. "Sorry for just turning up, things happened. Owen was good enough not leave me alone when I said I didn't want to be."

"Oh not sure I do either, you know you said that the first time we met, so this is your third?" Diane smiled and sipped the coffee. "So don't worry about it. Ah, Owen's good like that. He'll deny it completely but he is rather a sweet guy." Sure she was going to say things about him of course and probably not what he would want of her and Lyssa to be talking about. "And don't worry about anything else he told me what happened between the two of you."

Lyssa at least then had the decency to blush and in an attempt to cover up this she tried to drink more coffee.

"I looked you up in the archives, you really from the fifties? Cause you don't seem like it." She asked when she finally put the cup down. "I mean it as good thing. You're pretty and smart, I can see why Owen likes you." She pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them watching Diane. "Yeah, things happened before you arrived. Never had a friend quite so good as he's been to me since." Lyssa giggled. "We could really ruin his reputation."

Diane really wasn't sure what to say to Lyssa's ramblings. "I was, though it seems I belong here now." She didn't mention that she'd tried to get home and well not gone anywhere useful.

"Maybe we should just make him worry about it. He did seem to get a bit worried when he found out I'd met you before." She smiled and pointed to Lyssa's cup. "There's more coffee if you want." She'd finished hers and was going back to get some more.

"Naw, it's okay." Lyssa shook her head. "How about we go out for some proper breakfast or brunch or something? I don't have a clue what time it is actually." She didn't have a watch on and she couldn't quickly spot a clock until she looked out the window.

"So early lunch. See if him we can worry want's to join us. Way of saying thanks for letting me crash here. Not wanting to really be left alone last night." She shrugged as best she could given her shoulder still hurt and that she wasn't wanting to go into much more detail then. "I'll go get dressed won't be long."
